What do you like about working for this employer?:
The office was clean, and my colleagues were great to work with. This is the best place where I have worked in terms of the people I have worked with.
Features and benefits:
iiNet was good at creating a fun
office atmosphere (when you were not taking calls), they often provided staff with free lunches, cake day and there was always fruit. They also provided breakfast (cereal) and had alot of themed days to keep staff entertained and happy . They have pool tables, sky tv and an Xbox on every level. You also got a 15 min massage at your desk every fortnight. I enjoyed the themed events, there were always cool prizes like concert tickets, CD's, restaurant vouchers. They also had a healthcare number you could use for yourself and your family to get medical advice 24/7. You also get quite a large credit towards your Vodafone account.
What don't you like about working for this employer?:
I really disliked the work, working in a call centre for a telecommunications is possibly the worst job you could have. Every one hates you, things always go wrong, there are always delays. Every 3rd call is someone swearing at you. The other thing was the hours, working 11:30am - 8pm Wed - Sun is not ideal. I never saw my family, I always missed out on social events with friends and it was draining mentally having to deal with angry customers everyday.
What would you change about this employer?:
More flexible work hours, I did not like the fact that I never had a weekend off. If I wanted a weekend off I had to take leave. I would rather have worked 8 days in a row so that I could have a weekend off once in a while.
What would you tell someone who is considering joining this employer?:
If you are thicked skinned, and can handle angry customers, and don't mind working odd hours - then this is probably an ideal workplace for you. If all those things were different, I would probably still be working there. It is also right near K Road, so there are alot of lunch options, but you only have a very strict 30min lunch break so you can't wander too far.
